Future Farm

BEST YOUNG FARMER OF EUROPE

We are unbelievably proud to have been named “Best Young Farmer of Europe” by the European Parliament. Our business concept was selected out of hundreds of projects throughout the EU. The award ceremony took place during the European Congress of Young Farmers.

An outstanding jury of EU Commission representatives, the Parliament, and the European Council of Young Farmers judged and selected the winners.

As a proud winner, I am dedicated to getting young people interested in farming again.

NEW WAYS OF FARMING

The Future Farm, part of the Gugumuck Farm, showcases new and sustainable agricultural methods. Initiated by Andreas Gugumuck, an interdisciplinary group of nutritionists, agricultural scientists, landscape planners, industrial designers (Livinstudio), and researchers have come together to discuss important topics for the future: food supply, agriculture, and sustainability.

Our think tank develops brand new approaches to alternative farming and discusses them with various members of the agricultural and culinary sectors.

Was ist „Ausdauerndes Gemüse“? Welche noch unbekannten Nahrungsmittel gibt es? Wie und womit kann ein nachhaltiger, produktiver Garten gestaltet werden?

VIENNA SNAIL FARM

We have been successfully farming snails on our vegetable field in Rothneusiedl in the South of Vienna since 2008. Our snail farm is leading the way to a new kind of agriculture. Unlike traditional meat production, snails can be grown with minimal use of resources. The animals are free range and feed on locally grown herbs and vegetables. If you listen closely, you can even hear the sound of the snails licking their chops as they munch away! Come join a tour of the field from May to October.
