Welcome to the Gugumuck Farm

The Gugumuck Farm in Rothneusiedl in the 10th district of Vienna has been in the family since 1720. The property has been an operating farm for several generations now. Field vegetables have been grown here and experiments been carried out with the crossbreeding of new apple, fig, peony, and lilac varieties. The farm has also been home to a great many different animals. The family began using gentle farming techniques very early on, and has received awards from the International Garden Show several times.

Andreas Gugumuck took over the farm from his grandmother in 2010 and set out to repopularize the great taste of escargot in Austrian cuisine.


When Andreas Gugumuck took over the farm years ago, he quit his job in the IT industry to begin raising escargot. He founded the Vienna Escargot Manufactory in 2014, taking a deliberate step to produce a food of the future with a long tradition. Today, several generations of Gugumucks still live together on the farm.
